Deep Faces

These are close ups from a mural that just went up last night in uptown Oakland. Faces of young black people who have been killed in the last few years, like Oscar Grant and Trayvon Martin, and representations of young people who get killed and hurt and arrested and traumatized regularly in this county. It's a beautiful mural, and it appeared today, when there is a large protest in downtown Oakland. Perhaps the two are coordinated.
