Mr Obama and Mr Ali

Murals which go down one side of Ben Ali's famous chili bowl on U Street in Washington DC. There is another side to the building which is also covered in murals that will come in the next post.
All of these murals feature and celebrate African Americans of note. I can only presume that bill cosby had not yet fallen into disrepute when he was painted up on the wall.

Update: Just heard that this mural is now gone and the wall painted white. Not sure why, #benschilibowl plans to paint a new one on that wall. But this mural exists now only in photos like this one, and in memory.
