Living Walls

This week I had an incredible experience in Atlanta Georgia with the Living Walls mural group. They gave us a tour of their murals along the Buford Highway, an area of Atlanta that is home to many immigrant communities and is known as Atlanta's international food district due to the many restaurants and small businesses run by immigrant communities along the highway.
Living Walls wanted to bring in women artists, in partnership with locals, to create images of who really lives in this area. To share the message that this is home, and that immigrants belong here. Enjoy some of these murals, as well as Monica, the group's leader, speaking about the murals and the project. Living Walls is a great organization which is doing community building as it paints to make the city more beautiful. Send them a donation and follow their work at www.livingwallsatl.com.

Monica gives us an introduction to the project before we head out to look at the murals.
